Most of the phinisi our desk boards in Labuan Bajo harbor measure between 30 and 40 metres. Lamima measures 65.2. Launched in 2014 from Ara, the South Sulawesi village where phinisi hulls have been laid for generations, she was drawn by Spanish naval architect Marcelo Penna and rigged as a two-masted ketch — a sailing boat first, a motor vessel second. The combination of a traditional Indonesian build and a modern naval-architecture office produced the largest wooden sailing yacht of her type afloat, and the only hull in the local charter fleet we would call a superyacht without qualification.

The watermaker’s 10,000 litres per day means fresh water is never rationed — long showers after a saltwater afternoon at Manta Point are simply part of the service, on a hull where the tanks never dictate the itinerary. The Kohler bank — three 50 kW generators plus a 25 kW night set — keeps air-conditioning, galley and dive compressors running with a quiet unit reserved for anchorages after dark. And the 8-knot cruising figure is the honest one for passage planning: the run from Labuan Bajo into the central park anchorages takes two to three hours, while repositioning legs between Indonesian island groups are measured in days.

There are no shared cabins, no per-person open-trip departures and no published weekly schedule for this vessel — and no date on which that changes. Lamima sells one way: the whole yacht, your party only, her crew, your route. One confirmed booking removes her from the calendar entirely, which is why her peak weeks disappear months out and why flexible-date enquiries get materially better answers.

If a shared-cabin trip is what your budget wants, say so — that is not this boat, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. Her published 2026 rate is anchored on Komodo sailings out of Labuan Bajo. Like most large sailing yachts in Indonesia, her calendar repositions with the seasons — Komodo through the April–October dry months, with eastern Indonesia and Raja Ampat itineraries subject to where she is positioned. Day 1 — Labuan Bajo · Kelor · Manjarite · Kalong

Board late morning, clear the harbor by noon and make the short leg to Kelor Island for the first hill walk — fifteen sweaty minutes to a ridge view over the anchorage. Swim off the beach, then move to Manjarite for the afternoon’s first reef session over the coral shelf. At dusk she anchors off Kalong Island, where tens of thousands of flying foxes leave the mangroves in a stream that lasts twenty minutes or more. Dinner on the outdoor dining deck follows the show.

Day 2 — Padar at 05:15 · Pink Beach · Komodo · Taka Makassar · Manta Point

The 05:15 wake-up is deliberate: our guides time the Padar climb so you top the saddle before the heat and ahead of the day-boat wave, with the three-bay panorama in first light. Back aboard for breakfast, then Pink Beach for a swim over rose-tinted sand, and the ranger-escorted dragon walk on Komodo Island before lunch. The afternoon is the water: Taka Makassar’s sandbar, then drifting Manta Point’s channel — mantas with wingspans past three metres cruise the cleaning stations here most days of the dry season.

Day 3 — Sebayur · return to Labuan Bajo

A last morning snorkel on the Sebayur reef wall while the crew rigs breakfast on deck, then the two-to-three-hour passage home at 8 knots — the stretch of the trip where the yoga deck and the gym earn their space. Alongside in Labuan Bajo by early afternoon, in time for onward flights the following morning.

Two park rules worth knowing in 2026: the Komodo–Padar zone operates under a 1,000-visitor daily cap with SiOra reservations enforced from April 2026 — your crew handles the slots, but confirmed dates matter — and drone flying inside the park requires a BTNK permit at IDR 2,000,000 per day, arranged in advance, not on the water.

Read the table from the right. If the brief is eighteen guests and photogenic interiors, Prana takes more people for $7,000 less per night. If it is a large family or incentive group of up to 26 on a superyacht budget with headroom, Lasha’s Komodo debut season is the sharpest value in the trio. Lamima wins on a different axis entirely: fewest guests, most waterline, a genuine sailing rig and the certification file — the choice for parties who know exactly why a 65-metre ketch is not the same purchase as a 55-metre motor phinisi.

Who Charters Lamima — and When

Three profiles account for most of her bookings. Multi-generation families, because 14 berths across seven cabins absorbs grandparents, parents and children without anyone sharing badly — and because the safety-class paperwork settles the one question cautious families always ask. Wellness groups, for whom the gym, the yoga deck and spa treatments turn passage days into the point of the trip rather than the price of it. And corporate or celebration charters — a landmark birthday, a board retreat — where the vessel itself is the venue and the photographs have to say so.

Timing follows the Komodo dry season. July and August go first — school holidays plus the calmest sea state — and the New Year weeks follow. Because a single party takes the whole yacht, six to nine months of lead time is realistic for peak weeks; April–June and September–October are the value window, with the same anchorages and thinner crowds at Padar’s 05:15 summit.

What the 2026 Rate Does — and Does Not — Cover

Treat USD 27,000 as the base of the quote, not the total. Indonesian VAT is billed at 11 percent on top — the operator publishes it that way, and so do we. Komodo National Park fees are always separate: entry is IDR 250,000 (about $16) per foreign visitor per day, ranger escorts run IDR 200,000 per group of up to five on the main trekking islands (IDR 150,000 on Padar), and harbor fees add IDR 25,000. Budget $40–50 per person across a three-day park visit and you will not be surprised.

Inclusion lists on superyacht charters vary by season and routing — crewed service and meals are the norm, but toys, dive support and premium beverages are confirmed per charter.
